Each guest is outfitted free of charge with high-quality, thoroughly inspected safety gear, including helmets, Type V PFDs, river boots, and, when needed, wetsuits and splash jackets. Before launching, we provide a mandatory safety briefing covering paddling techniques, what to expect while whitewater rafting in Colorado, and how to self-rescue if necessary. As part of our commitment to safety, we employ a team of professional safety kayakers for our Royal Gorge and High Water Bighorn trips (Class IV or more). These skilled kayakers are trained to assist swimmers, identify hazards, retrieve paddles, rafts and perform rescues. Our internationally recognized kayak support program highlights our dedication to both swift-water rescue and your overall experience.
We tailor our Colorado River rafting tours to match your experience level, to help ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure. From milder, family-friendly floats (Class II, III) to thrilling Class IV+ rapids, we offer something for everyone. We use State-Of-The-Art-SOTAR rafts as well as monitoring weather and water conditions, we prioritize your safety at every turn. While employing full-time safety kayakers is a significant investment, it reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of care on the water. With a guide leading every raft and a kayak team ready for action, you can trust that your adventure will be as thrilling as it is secure.
